Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, candidates will be able to: 

• Understand the importance of their role in managing health and safety in their workplace 

• Define key health and safety terms 

• Identify hazards and carry out an effective risk assessment in the workplace 

• Describe how to identify, measure and control hazards and risks 

• Understand their responsibilities in relation to health and safety at work 

• List the steps that need to be taken to effectively investigate incidents

Assessment

 The course is assessed in 2 parts. 

• Multiple choice 30 question examination in which candidates must demonstrate what they have learnt. 

• Practical assessment in which participants must show how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real life situations. 

Certification

Successful candidates receive an IOSH-approved certificate. 

Process on Certification Following Completed Course and Assessment:

Once the candidate has completed their assessment, it will be reviewed and marked and will take approximately 7 working days to receive their result. 

The candidate will receive an email with their result. If a candidate fails, they will be given 2 more attempts on the assessment. If they pass, their certificate will come directly from IOSH. The candidate will receive an email in approximately 10 working days. The email will ask the candidate to register for an account on the IOSH system, or to log into an existing IOSH account if they already have one. When registering, the candidate must use the same email address used for their H21 e-learning account. If a candidate tries to register on their IOSH account with a different email address, it won’t work. Once they have registered on their IOSH account, it will allow them to log in and download a PDF of their certificate.
